Abby was raised right up the street in Charlotte, NC, where she worked for Council for Children’s Rights and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools starting in 2017. She has two beautiful children – William is at Myers Park High School in Charlotte, and Bethany gained her angel wings at the age of 12 in 2021 after a long battle with a catastrophic form of epilepsy called Dravet Syndrome. Most recently Abby walked beside her parents who were full-time caregivers to her grandfather, a 99 year old WWII Veteran. He was diagnosed with dementia and, though he had many amazing days while on that journey, there were some when her parents felt defeated. After battling the stress of healthcare with her own children and in support of her parents, Abby recognized the need for day programs: “I hope Renew can make those transitions and hard days a little less rough and a bit brighter for our families.”
